This project included identity pieces and (3) informational brochures for a financial advisory company. The identity pieces included business cards + masters, standard pocket folder, document/report wrap, and a capacity vessel with custom die cuts to hold the brochures and other documents as needed.
The designer collaborated with Yorke from the outset to ensure compatibility between the design and equipment needed to produce the various techniques involved.
The business cards and masters were printed offset due to the very large quantity produced, and all other pieces were printed on the J Press. Production processes were most extensive for the business cards and the capacity vessel. The business cards printed on two sheets; 2-color foil stamp and soft touch laminate was applied to one sheet, and 2-color PMS plus digital clear ICE applied to the other sheet. The two sheets were then mounted, trimmed, and edge painted.
The capacity vessel is a 6-panel pocket folder designed to hold a large die-cut brochure on one side and two smaller brochures in a capacity slit on the right; a larger pocket behind the brochures supports documents and/or reports. The business card slit positions the business card to reveal only specific information on the card.
Numerous paper mock-ups were built and tested to meet the exact fit required when die-cutting the capacity vessel.
